چکیده
In this contribution, we introduce a multilevel approximation method with T-splines for fitting scattered point clouds iteratively, an application to land remote sensing. This new procedure provides local surface by explicit computation of the control points and is called (MTA). It computationally efficient compared traditional global least-squares (LS) approach, which may fail when there unfavourable density from given refinement level. We validate our approach within simulated framework apply it two real datasets: (i) holes scanned terrestrial laser scanner (ii) patch on sand-dune in Netherlands. Both examples highlight potential MTA rapidly large noisy variable similar results LS approximation.

Application of remote sensing and geographical information system in mapping land cover of the national park
The study was conducted with the objective of mapping landscape cover of Nechsar National park in Ethiopia to produce spatially accurate and timely information on land use and changing pattern. Monitoring provides the planners and decision-makers with required information about the current state of its development and the nature of changes that have occurred. Remote sensing and Geographical Inf...
متن کاملAn Improved Land Surface Emissivity Parameter for Land Surface Models Using Global Remote Sensing Observations
Because land surface emissivity ( ) has not been reliably measured, global climate model (GCM) land surface schemes conventionally set this parameter as simply constant, for example, 1 as in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) model, and 0.96 for bare soil as in the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Commun...
متن کاملApplication of Remote Sensing in Assessing Land Use Changes in Haraz Watershed
Aims: Land-use change due to human activities is one of the important issues in regional and development planning. The aim of this study was to detect land-use changes using Landsat TM, ETM+, IRS and ASTER satellite imagery. Methodology: In this quasi-experimental study, land-use changes in the Haraz watershed over a 23-year period were evaluated. For this study, images of 1992 TM, ETM + 2002, ...
متن کاملNew Scheme for Validating Remote-Sensing Land Surface Temperature Products with Station Observations
Continuous land-surface temperature (LST) observations from ground-based stations are an important reference dataset for validating remote-sensing LST products. However, a lack of evaluations of the representativeness of station observations limits the reliability of validation results. In this study, a new practical validation scheme is presented for validating remote-sensing LST products that...
متن کاملApplication of Gis and Remote Sensing in Land Use Statistics
Systematic and comprehensive compilation of land use statistics is necessary for planned development of agriculture, forests, grasslands, rural settlements, urban spreads, industries and other land based programmes and activities. The need for optimizing land use in an integrated manner has become particularly relevant in recent years as a consequence of compelling and conflicting demands of gr...
